据《明史》一段《后妃列传》载：明孝穆纪太后，贺县人，蛮土官女。就为其地属和族属，不少学者不辞辛苦，深入贺县的山山水水寻找其踪迹。林林总总，得出的初步结论是：明孝穆纪太后为贺县（或连山）瑶族，具体特指为当地蛮（瑶）土官的女儿。这是否为真实的结论？本文拟以史料佐证并加以实地考察，同时辅以调研论证，力求应证各方家结论。%According to Ming History, a paragraph from Empress and Queen Biography contains： Emperor Xiaomu＇ s mother JI, He County, a daughter of the local governor.
