摘要

As the Father of Human Ecology, Patrick Geddes was the founder and pioneer of Media Ecology. Geddes held the opinion that intellectuals should act and apply their knowledge into social practice. It is Geddes that initially studied the correlation between nature, artificial environment and human culture. In addition, he took human and cities as living organisms in his research, thus creating a new ecological perspective of human civilization connected to environment, and a research perspective of Media Ecology as well.
