“继母如母”是汉代流行的一种家庭文化现象，所传达出的是男性话语中心里的理想化女性预期。汉代对“继母”贞节道德的高度宣扬更多源于现实生活中“后妻败家”的隐患与忧虑，也与重人伦孝义、崇家风声誉的家庭观念紧密相连。在这种贵母崇母的风尚下，“继母”在家庭结构中的地位和法律权益也得到物质和精神的双重保障。%It is widely accepted in the Han dynasty that to treat the stepmother as one’s biological mother is a kind phenome‐non of family culture ,showing man’s expectation and assumption of ideal women .At that time ,a massive promotion to chastity ethics of stepmother mostly was led by invisible troubles and worries resulted from existing cases of a terrible step‐mother destroying a complete family in real life .What’s more ,it is closely linked with the family values attaching much im‐portance to human relations ,filial piety ,and reputation .Therefore ,stepmother status in the family structure ,legal rights and interests ,to a large extent have been guaranteed in the aspect of material and spirit because of much respect to the step‐mother .
