While reaching to an extreme, the horror may turn to its opposite side and presents the story with a strange beauty of literature, which is bestowed with unconventional aesthetic characteristics. As one of Edgar Allan Poe’s masterpieces, the short story The Cask of Amontillado deals with the theme of revenge and death. It contains only a few characters and its plot is not too complex.
