结果表明,动物通过能量代谢和体重调节以适应不同程度的食物资源短缺的应激环境,通过增加身体能量贮存以增强应对食物短缺的适应能力.%The present study aimed to examine the significance and the role of physiological regulations of body mass and energy budget in small mammals in the adaptation to variations of food availability.Adult male KM mice were stochastically restricted to 75% and 50% of ad libitum food intake for four weeks and then refed ad libitum for another four weeks.Body mass, food intake, basal metabolic rate(BMR) and body composition were measured.Food-restricted mice increased BMR and the weight of gastrointestinal tracts, but decreased body mass, carcass mass, body fat content compared with controls. After 4 weeks of refeeding,BMR and body mass recovered to the levels of controls, whereas body fat content was significantly higher than control mice. These finding may suggest that the physiological regulations in energy budget and body mass are employed by small mammals to meet the environmental stress caused by different stochastic food restriction.Animals are able to increased fat storage when food is plentiful and then increase the capability to cope with lower food availability.
