主政密州时期是苏轼体悟人生的重要时期。在对人生的理解方面，他更深刻地感受到人生的短暂困顿，对生老病死等常见问题做出了一些理性通达的解释；在为人处世方面，遁世自乐的想法更强烈，报国济民的价值观念也在强化，两者显示出融通的迹象，还提出了一些处困、解困的见解。这些情况，对其在密州时期的生活安顿、创作及后人生思想均有影响，也成为其在密州身心屡屡受累、精神状态屡有起落的重要原因。%It is an important period for Su Shi to feel the life as a governor in Mizhou. He felt more deeply the hardship and transience of the life, but could interpret rationally such common life problems as birth, old age, sickness and death when he reflected on his life here. With the thoughts of retiracy for life enjoyment and the idea of serving the country and the people strengthening and merging, he also put forward some opinions on how to get rid of some life dilemmas here. Such changes caused his physical and mental sufferings in Mizhou, but influenced positively the period of his life and writing, even future life thoughts.
