摘要

1949年前，清华始终坚持派遣留学生学习世界先进的科学技术、融合中西文明，选派、资助了大量的留美学生，发掘、培养了一批杰出人才，为近代中国社会、经济、科技、文化的发展作出了巨大贡献。清华派遣和资助留学生的类型达10类，覆盖面之广、类型之多、持续时间之长，在国内高校中无出其右。%Tsinghua University persisted in sending overseas students to learn advanced science and technology and fuse Chinese and Western civilization,selected and financially supported the most students studying in the United States,dis-covered and trained a large number of talents who made an important contribution to the development of Chinese social,e-conomic,science and technology,and culture.Tsinghua University supported 10 types overseas students.The sending o-verseas students of Tsinghua University is the most prominent in Chinese universities.
