%Noma Hiroshi, the famous Japanese post-war author, wrote the unique novel SaikoronoSora, or“Dice Sky”, using the modern European novel theory mainly created by Balzac. In SaikoronoSora, Noma Hiroshi made a breakthrough in traditional Japanese modern realism and built a new novel world of“New Modern Realism”. The paper tries to point out the characteristics of this“New Modern Realism”from three aspects:the effect of“New Modern Realism”in Noma Hiroshi’s“Total Novel”works;the relationship between“New Modern Realism”and Japanese traditional modern realism;and the difference between“New Modern Realism”and the realism expressed in Japanese Proletarian Literature.
