19世纪中后期华工因本国的生存环境恶化需向外寻求养家途径，而美国发展急需大量劳动力，因此部分华工到美国谋生。这些华工来源以广东为主，与在美国的华人会馆关系密切。虽然华工的规模相对不是很大，但他们却对美国社会产生了重大影响。%During the Mid and Late 19th Century, the Chinese living environment was worsening, which forced the Chinese laborers to find another way to support their family, while a large quantity of laborers were needed in America in the same time because of its development. Thus, some of the Chinese laborers went to America to make a hying. These Chinese laborers who were intimate with Chinese guildhalls mostly came from Guangdong province. Although the number of these Chinese laborers was not very large in scale relatively, they did have a great influence on the Americ~ society.
