Objective:To investigate the effect of hypo-rnthermia (HT) on lung inflammation and inflammation-related cytokines in HCL-induced acute lung injury in rats. Methods: Thirty adult male SD rats -weighting 250~300 g -were randomly divided into three groups with 10 rats each; control, normothermia, (37 °C) , and mild hypothermia groups (34 °C). The rats in control group were injected intrabronchialy saline while the other 2 groups were injected HC1 (pH = l. 2,1. 5 mL/kg). In mild hypothermia group the body temperature was lowered to 34 °C half an hour after HC1 instillation, and 10 rats -were sacrificed at 6 hours. Blood samples -were obtained for blood gas analysis and the total leukocytes, PMN%, protein concentration in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and the levels of TNF-ct and IL-8 in serum and BALF were detected. Results: In the mild hypothermia group, total leukocytes, PMN% and protein concentration in BALF were lower than those in normothermia group ( P 展开▼
