Based on the thunderstorm data during 1961 -2010 from Lincang station, the climatic characteristics of thunderstorms occurred in Lincang are analyzed by using statistical methods. The results show that Lincang is a thunderstorm -prone area, the average 75.46 thunderstorm days is occurred and the inter - annual variation of thunderstorm day is very large. The maximum value is lOOd while the minimum one is just 40d. It is also found that the thunderstorm day decreases significantly in recent 50 years, with the decay rate of 0.57 day per year. Besides, the seasonal change of thunderstorm is very obvious. In summer, the thunderstorm day percent (46.94%) of the whole year is the most while in winter, the thunderstorm day percent (4.12%) is the least. The highest period of thunderstorms occurred April to October in total 89.40% every year. Average thunderstorm duration is 286. 94d, with the beginning date of February 3rd and ending date of November 15th.%对临沧站1961—2010年的雷暴日数进行统计分析。结果表明：临沧属于雷暴多发区，雷暴日数年际变化大，近50a平均年雷暴日数为75．46d，最多年为100d，最少年为40d；近50a年雷暴日数呈显著减少趋势，减少率为5．75d／10a；临沧雷暴日数的季节性变化十分明显，夏季最多，占全年46．94％，冬季最少，占全年4．12％；4—10月是雷暴高发期，占全年89．40％。临沧多年平均雷暴初、终日分别为2月3日、11月15日，年雷暴持续期平均为286．94d。
