晚清上海西式娱乐的传播路径与娱乐观念的建构

     

摘要

In the late Qing Dynasty after the opening of Shanghai western entertainment in Shanghai,the propagation path includes elite culture communication as a civilization demonstration,the spread of popular culture as a business for prof-it,educational communication of church schools.There is a coincidence in propagation paths between Western entertain-ment and Western modern civilization.In cultural intersection,old intellectuals living in Shanghai are accustomed to ap-plying traditional culture reference system to the cognition of Western style of entertainment,either dismissing as “Qi”,“ancient”entertainment,or hammering out the meaning of“Shu gluten”and “warrior”by imposing military and politi-cal meanings.Under the yoke of the political culture at the expense of neglected relaxing function of entertainment and leisure.Because the general public lives in the edge of the traditional culture,and their in-born curiosity about novelty, they allow themselves to accept easily the Western entertainment and pleasure activities.However,they also indulged in secular life,hedonism and consumerism,giving up the exploration of the true significance of life.%晚清上海开埠后西式娱乐大量进入,其传播路径包括文明示范的精英文化传播、商业盈利的大众文化传播、教会学校的教育传播,西式娱乐的传播路径与西方近代文明的传播轨迹重合。在中西文化的交汇中,旅居上海的传统文士们习惯性地用传统文化参照系统来认知西式娱乐活动,要么斥之为“奇技淫巧”、“古已有之”的娱乐;要么将各种西式娱乐活动与军事、政治纠结在一起,推敲出“舒筋力”和“尚武”的意义,在文化和政治的束缚下忽略了娱乐消闲放松这一重要功能。而普通大众因处于传统文化的边缘地带,趋新鹜奇的心态让他们坦然接受了西式娱乐,但容易在享乐中忽视人生积极意义的探索,沉溺于世俗生活,滑向享乐主义和消费主义。
