Comparing the training requirements of high school English teachers in Tongliang, Fengjie and other 12 rural areas of Chongqing with the trainings done by some colleges of Chongqing from 2005 to 2006, this paper points out two problems: 1) the trainings were not very effectively arranged to meet the demands of the trainees; 2) the training means and ways were old, single and traditional. Then it briefly analyzes the causes of the problems.%将铜梁、奉节等12个重庆周边地区农村中学英语教师的培训需求与2005年、2006年重庆市部分高校和教师进修学校实施的此类培训进行对比,指出了该类培训存在的两个问题:培训的针对性和时效性不够突出;培训手段和途径相对单一、传统,并简要分析了问题产生的原因。
