奥巴马就职演说的情态功能分析

摘要

Modality system in Obama's presidential inaugural address is analyzed under the guidance of systemic -functional grammar. It is found that in this speech Obama was more inclined to make use of modalization, high value modal expressions and implicitly subjective modal orientation; Distributions of these modality resources are also different in each part. Those factors, such as the influence of power and solidarity, political inclination, shouldering responsibility contribute to the choice of modality in this speech and make it persuasive and inspiring. Thus, it is concluded that making use of modality appropriately helps to reach the expected goals in speech.%以奥巴马的就职演说为研究对象，从功能语法的视角分析其中的情态类型、情态量值、情态取向。奥巴马在演讲中更多地使用情态类型（modalization），高量值情态词和非明确主观情态；在演讲的各部分情态资源的分布又有所不同；权势和等同因素、政治倾向、责任感等因素促使奥巴马进行了不同的情态选择，使其演讲更具有鼓动性。合理地使用情态资源可以使演讲迭到预期效果。
