Based on the three market structure models inc luding self-sufficiency, direct trading and commissioned transaction, this paper constructs anextra-marginal general equilibrium model of endogenous division, exploring the reason why travel agency exists in tourism. The study shows that the travel agency is not only the product of full development of tourism economy, but also the product of tourism market transaction efficiency and the development of social division of labor. To a certain extent, the development of travel agency is one of the symbols of tourism economic development.
