关联理论下《麦琪的礼物》中“and”功能研究

摘要

From the perspective of relevance theory ,in this paper it made both quantitative and qualitative analysis of the functions of "and"in The Gift of the Magi from semantics level ,discourse structure level and interpersonal interaction level .The research has shown that "and"functions acts as a coordinating conjunction as well as a discourse marker in The Gift of the Magi.Except for the major functions of "and",which are parallel ,addition and progress ,it has a lot of other functions .It can help to understand the functions of "and"comprehensively and systematically and provides a new perspective for the appre -ciation of The Gift of the Magi.%从关联理论角度，在语义层面、语篇结构层面以及人际交互层面对“and”在《麦琪的礼物》中的功能进行定量考察和定性分析。研究表明，“and”在《麦琪的礼物》中既可作为并列连词又可作为话语标记语，除并列、增补和递进是“and”的主要功能外，它还具有多种其它功能。该研究有助于全面理解“and”的功能，也为欣赏《麦琪的礼物》提供新的视角。
