For cell cultivation, especially human and animal cells, a cell culture is placed in a cell culture chamber (20) in a cultivation system, a flow is generated of freely-selected fluid media into the culture chamber as a continuous supply, and a flow of different gases into the chamber gives a continuous gassing action. The culture chamber is heated under control, to maintain a constant temperature. The cell culture is monitored throughout cultivation by microscope observation, together with continuous measurement of selected cell parameters, using integrated sensors. The assembly has flow channels (26-28) for the fluids and gases.
