Zhang Jingyue was a renowned TCM doctor in Ming Dynasty, and he put emphasize on the treatment of tonifying kidney with an unique view on the theories of yin-yang and vital essence,who also contributed greatly to the inheritance and development of life-gate.Zhang initiated individual therapy in clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment with application of the theories of yin-yang,vital essence and life-gate. Secondly,he was adept in tonifying life-gate by nourishing essence and blood as well as replenishing yin essence for shape.Thirdly,he attached importance to warmly invigorating the kidney-yang and nouris-hing the kidney-yin as well as reinforcing yang from yin and reinforcing yin from yang.
