[Objective] The aim was to study the individual and combined effects of cadmium and selenium on the micronuclei of Allium sativum. [Method] We determined the root growth rate and the micronucleus rate. [Result] The Cd (1. 0-200. 0 mg/L) had toxic effect on garlic root. The root growth was inhibited and the cell micronucleus formed after Cd treatment. The degree of Cd poisoning on root increased as Cd concentra-tion increased. Under the combined treatment of Se and Cd, the micronucleus rates of combined treatments with a low concentration (<0. 5 mg/L) of Se were lower than the sole Cd treatment. However,the high levels of Se (>0. 5 mg/L) could increase the damage of Cd on root tip of garlic. [ Conclusion] Se can relieve the toxic effect of Cd on garlic root under low concentration and aggravate the toxic effect under high concentration.%[目的]探讨Cd、Se单一处理及复合处理对大蒜根尖细胞微核的影响.[方法]测量不同Cd、Se处理后根的生长速度及微核率.[结果]Cd(1.0~200.0 mg/L)对大蒜根有毒害作用,抑制了根的生长,同时诱发细胞微核的形成,浓度越大毒害程度越大.Cd、Se联合合处理时,Se在低浓度(<0.5 mg/L)下,联合处理的微核率小于单一Cd处理;但是Se浓度超过0.5 mg/L后,反而加剧了Cd对大蒜根尖的危害.[结论]低浓度Se能缓解Cd的毒性作用,高浓度Se加强Cd的毒性作用.
