To investigate the effect of cotton varieties, planting dentisities, and planting patterns( direct seeding or transplantation) on cotton lint yield , growth and development dynamics, boll setting dynamics, yield , ratios of boll setting in four different growing stages of kinds of cotton materials ( early maturing and mid-maturing) were analyzed in 2008-2009 ,with transplanted cotton as CK. Results showed that yield of directly-seeded cotton after barley was equal to that of transplanted cotton provided appropriate varieties were selected. Short season cotton varieties with growing period about 100-105 d such as Zhongmian50 and Zhongmian68 were best suited for direct seeding in a barley grown field while varieties with growing period over 125 d were not due to lower percentage of pre-frost boll opening. The appropriate planting density was about 67 500 plants in I hm2' for Zhongmian 50 and 60 000 plants for Zhongmian 68 in Jiangsu coastal area.%为探明麦后棉品种、密度和种植方式对皮棉产量的影响,2008~2009年在江苏沿海地区农业科学研究所试验农场开展了麦后棉不同种植方式(直播和育苗移栽)、品种和密度试验,以中熟育苗移栽棉为对照,研究分析了麦后直播棉生育性状、结铃动态、产量和"四桃"比例与移栽棉的差异.结果表明:麦后直播棉在品种选择恰当的前提下,可获得与营养钵育苗移栽棉花相当的产量.适合麦后直播的棉花品种是早熟棉,生育期为100~105 d,试验品种中棉所50、中棉所68是理想的麦后直播棉品种,其中中棉所68增产潜力更大.生育期在125 d以上的中熟品种因霜前吐絮率低,不宜作麦后直播棉使用.江苏沿海地区麦后直播棉中棉所50适宜的种植密度为1 hm267 500株左右,中棉所68适宜的种植密度为1 hm260 000株左右.
