Roadside trees as the fulcrum of road landscape design has been cited as the major cause of run-off-roadway(ROR)accidents on the roadway. This is because roadside trees are the most hit fixed object during ROR accidents, hence many researchers have recommended for its outright removal from the roadside to create e-nough clear zone. This paper researched and provided insight into the intertwine problem of the impact of land-scape tree plantings on ROR accidents by analyzing some statistically available data from other researchers and a-gencies. This paper asserts that, roadside trees are just the final recipient of ROR crash and that establishing the reasons for which the vehicles leave the road is very imperative to finding a better solution to ROR accidents. More so,systematically encoding safety measures in the design of the roadway and its landscape features can sig-nificantly influence driver behavior and subsequently reduce the frequency and severity of ROR accidents.%作为道路景观设计的一个分支,行道树的设计被列为车辆冲出路外(ROR)交通事故的主要原因。
