For a long time, Dadu River, one of the rivers in west Sichuan Province with abundant water resources, has experienced large-scale hydroelectric develoxpment on its mainstream and branches. 48 hydropower stations have already been completed. Along the whole river, altogether 356 hydropower stations are in the layout, with a total installed capacity of 17.79 million kw, and only the mainstream will be taken a 24-level development. At the same time, Dadu River basin is also an area with high incidence of geologic disasters such as earthquake, landslide, collapse and mud-rock flow as well as serious soil erosion, but the river valley area is the most intensive farmingl and for residents in west Sichuan mountain area. Hydropower stations have brought us energy and other benefits, but they also left a lot of hidden dangers to arouse and aggravate geologic disasters, merge farming land, cause local residents' move, and damage natural landscapes and sights of human interests.
