Accurate classification of cyanobacteria using traditional morphological taxonomy is challenging due to the obscurity of morphological criteria and morphous variability. New approaches from molecular biology have been utilized to decode genetic information and to improve cyanobacterial taxonomy. Nowadays , use of taxonomy based on DNA character to classify cyanobacteria and further to study their genotypic relationships are underway, and obtained results are promising. The application of various molecular classification methods and distinctive mark genes in cyanobacterial categorization have been reviewed , and also recent advances in cyanobacterial categorization.%传统的形态学分类标准较模糊以及蓝藻的形态易变等问题造成了传统形态分类方法难以准确地对蓝藻进行分类。新的分子生物学的方法已经被用于解读遗传信息和完善蓝藻的分类系统。当今,蓝藻的系统分类研究及其基因型研究主要依靠基于DNA特征的分子分类方法,并且获得了很好的结果。本文归纳总结了多种基因DNA特征的分子分类方法及特征性标记基因在蓝藻分类中的应用,并且对蓝藻的分类研究进行了展望。
