Petrol and methanol both were used as fuel in the smoke tests. The test indicates that at the initial firei the speed of smoke movement is slow and it can be effectively controlled by the tunnel ventilation and smoke extraction system. The operation method of the fans should be carefully considered with the development of fire in tunnel.
