The development of CRS (classroom response system) , its application environments and the impact on the teaching are presented. A CRS is an electronic response system that bridges the interaction between students and instructors, and supplies technical support for multimedia learning modules and the teaching reforms. In order to investigate the effect of CRS, a controlled study based on the Introductory Physics course for the non-physics majors was carried out. A total of 383 students were randomly assigned to two groups. One group is the experimental one using CRS, and the other is the controlled group.
