Singapore is a multi-ethnic country and it has four official languages, which is special all over the world. Bilingualism is emphasized in Singapore, so not only English is emphasized, mother tongue of the general public is also important. This leads to the variant of English in Singapore and Singapore English has developed its own features. In this study, the formation of the language policy,the classification of Singapore English, phonetic and grammatical features of Singapore English, and attitudes towards Singapore English will be discussed in details with the consideration of political,economic and cultural elements.
