The study,based on a comparison of advantages and disadvantages as well as function positioning of inland new ar⁃eas,suggests that their future development should comprehensively consider the specific characteristics of geographical loca⁃tion, natural resources, ecological environment, social and economic conditions under the guide of the national strategy. They should actively undertake industrial transfer from the eastern areas while paying great attention to environmental protec⁃tion and carrying out the concept of ecological civilization,build differentiated competitive advantages of the opening and in⁃dustrial development over coastal new areas,further improve infrastructure and institution construction to promote the agglom⁃eration of production factors and talents by means of favorable policies on land,labor and tax,and eventually achieve the core driven function of the growth pole of new areas.%文章依据内陆新区的优劣势，比对功能定位，研究认为其未来发展应在国家战略统领下，综合考虑地理位置、自然资源和生态环境以及社会经济条件上的具体特点，在注重环境保护、贯彻生态文明理念的同时，积极承接东部的产业转移，与沿海新区在对外开放和产业发展上形成差异化的竞争优势，并借助新区叠加优惠政策形成政策洼地，进一步完善基础设施和制度建设以促进生产要素和人才集聚，最终实现新区的增长极核心带动功能。
