During the winter of 1986, I was workingin construction near Oakland, California. It isnot unusual for construction workers＇ handsto become very painful during the winterseason from working with concrete[水泥], wetlumber[木材], mud, etc. My hands were crackingopen and bleeding. Stopping work becauseof hurting hands is simply not an option in theconstruction industry. You just grit[咬紧] yourteeth, keep working, and finish the job.
