Imagine a walkable route across southern California, the Golden State, from the mountains to the sea, a way for hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians to connect with the area's ecosystems and history. Imagine the region's underutilized corridors linking a dense population to the mighty Pacific Crest Trail that spans the continent. Imagine joining via Nature scores of communities within the watersheds of the Los Angeles River, the San Gabriel River, and their tributaries-the Rio Hondo, Compton Creek, Arroyo Seco. Verdugo Wash, Eaton Wash, Alhambra Wash, and others. Imagine the greenway as a golden necklace, the sustainable alternative to a tangle of asphalt roadways in the Greater LA Basin.
