@@ BACKGROUND: Ependymoma is a kind of tumor of centralnervous system originating from ependymal cells. Ependymal cellsare distributed at ventricle system and surface of spinal centralaqueduct. So ependymoma from corresponding regions is verycommon. But ependymoma from other regions such as cerebralcortex, cerebellar, saddle region, superior saddle region, cerebello-pontine angle isn' t rare that mighty originate from ectopicependymal cells.
