The mathematical model used to predict clamping force and mold platen travel distance was constructed. The total transmitting efficiency factor of clamping system was determined using experimental method. By comparing the predicted and real value of clamping force, mold platen travel distance, it showed the errors of predicted clamping force and mold platen travel distance were within in 3%, and 1.2 ‰, respectively.
