Allocating quota by region and taking examination with one's ancestral home register were the two basic principles for the Imperial Examinations. In addition, there was a kind of Jiji-examination for floating examinees from Tang to Qing dynasty. Generally speaking, to take the imperial examinations by Jiji, the examinees need meet the following requirements:obtain one other region’s household registration over a certain number of years, provide corresponding land or grave evidence, and so on. The relaxation between Examination equity and regional equity is a dilemma in Imperial Examinations, and Jiji Policy was very harsh policy, however there were no other policy choices.% 分区定额与原籍应试是科举制的两项基本原则。
