A zirconia nanoparticle coated with a layer of stearate is characterized by FTIR, ESR, DSC, TGA and XPS. The results show that the surface modification layer effectively prevents the adsorption of water on the surface of the ZrO2 nanometer size core. The binding of Zr4+ and stearate is through bidentate chelating coordination. The lubrication properties of the modified ZrO2 nanoparticles as an additive in liquid paraffin are also primarily investigated. The results show that such ZrO2 nanoparticles have good friction reduction and antiwear properties.%采用XPS,FTIR,DSC,TGA等多种现代分析手段表征了硬脂酸修饰ZrO2纳米微粒的结构. 在四球摩擦磨损试验机上,首次评价了表面修饰ZrO2纳米微粒用作润滑油添加剂的摩擦学性能,结果表明ZrO2纳米微粒具有良好的抗磨减摩性.
