Oral contraceptives,both hormonal and non-hormonal are being takenby women in India and other countries,as a measure to check thegrowth of population.The application of indigenous abortifacientdrugs is oftern based on little or no scientific evidence in regardto their efficiency.There is a need to assess the genotoxic andfoetotoxic effects of the abortifacients.as these agents may some-times fail to produce desired effect.The present study is an at-tempt in this direction.
