To detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigen specific T cells in blood samples with T -SOFT· TB assay from 106 patients with active tuberculosis and 24 healthy individuals , and to compare with that from PPD test, acid-fast stain and tuberculosis antibody test. T-SOPT· TB showed a sensitivity of 93. 4% and specificity of 95. 8%. While the sensitivity from tests of AFB , PPD and tuberculosis antibody were 36. 8% , 57. 5% and 39. 6% , and the specificity was 100.0%, 83.3% and 91.7% respectively. Comparing with the other three methods, sensitivity difference in T-SOPT · TB for diagnosing tuberculosis infection was statistically significant ( P < 0. 01). While the difference in specificity was no statistically significant. As a result, T-SOPT · TB assay is a sensitive and specific method for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.
