The focus of this study is school environment and student discipline. This research examined teacher and student perceptions of school environment and student discipline. The study was designed also to determine if differences existed between demographic descriptors: gender, teaching assignment, and teaching experience and teacher perceptions of school environment and student discipline. This study also sought to determine if differences existed between demographics descriptors: gender, grade level, and educational background and student perceptions of school environment and student discipline.;Two survey instruments were developed, one each for teachers and students. Each survey was developed for specific descriptors of the two populations; however, all questions related to environment and discipline was exactly the same for both teachers and students. Surveys were constructed using a likert-type scale on which teachers and students indicated levels of agreement or disagreement about statements presented.;Four hundred students, 200 female, 200 male, 100 from each class level, and an equal representation from the five feeder grade school districts participated in this study. One hundred eighty-one faculty members also participated in the study.;Based upon the data obtained, the conclusions of the study were that significant differences existed between teacher and student perceptions of school environment and student discipline. Even though teachers and students differed on most survey questions, both responded in a positive manner regarding school environment and student discipline.;Individual teacher descriptors indicated some significant differences, however, teachers regardless of gender, teaching assignment, and teaching experience responded in a positive manner regarding school environment and student discipline. Similar significant differences were recorded for student descriptors: gender, grade level, and educational background; however, students generally responded in a positive manner regarding school environment and student discipline.
