The purpose of this study was to analyze Lipscomb University students' Internet use and involvement in extracurricular activities. A survey of students at Lipscomb University was conducted. As confirmed by the data the research was able to determine that the type of extracurricular activity a student participates in most often is related to the quantity of extracurricular activities they participate in during a typical week. The data also confirmed that the type of extracurricular activity a student participates in most often is related to the amount of time the student spends participating in extracurricular activities during a typical week. The data from the research were insufficient in providing a model that could be used to predict the quantity of extracurricular activities they would participate in during a typical week based on their Internet use. The data were also incapable of building a model that can be used to predict the amount of time per week a student participates in extracurricular activities based on his or her Internet use. Therefore, the data from the research project indicated that students' Internet use does not significantly impact the amount of time spent in extracurricular activities per week or quantity of extracurricular activities per week of students at Lipscomb University. The results of the study led to the author's theory of iStudent Development and iStudent Involvement.
