A field test was conducted to determine whether computer-assisted instruction (CAI), called Tennis Doubles Strategy, increased student learning. Tennis Doubles Strategy is an educational software program created by the researcher to teach beginning level tennis players the basics of doubles strategy and court positioning. They are given the basic doubles concepts, which are then reinforced through video examples as well as interactive questions for the participants to answer. This study gave 32 tennis players at Los Caballero's Sports Club, a tennis facility in Fountain Valley, CA, the opportunity to interact with the software program. A paired t-test using a single-group pretest-posttest design was used to analyze the scores of the study. Results showed statistically significant improvement in the mean posttest scores after the use of Tennis Doubles Strategy (CAI). Therefore the conclusion is that CAI can successfully transfer knowledge of sport's strategies to its users.
