高校优秀青年外语教师素质探究

摘要

当代中国与世界其他地区在经济、商业、科技和文化方面的交流日益频繁，因此，社会对于外语人才的需求与日俱增。高质量的英语教育已引起教育部以及高校管理者的高度重视。为确保高质量的英语教育，我国急需优秀的英语教师（即从事以英语作为外语教学的教师，简称EFL教师）。研究优秀的英语教师的素质尤为重要，因为教师的素质是影响教学成果以及学生成绩最为重要的教育因素之一。在以往的我国相关的实证研究中，研究重点主要探究资深或者年长的优秀高校英语教师素质。尽管青年外语教师的数量在大学英语教师中占有很大的比重，但是对于优秀的青年外语教师的素质研究尚不多见。
　　为弥补这一研究缺陷，本研究拟实现两个目的。一是从原始数据中构建研究优秀青年外语教师素质的基本理论框架;二是进一步探究优秀青年外语教师的发展轨迹以及促成他们职业发展的相关因素，旨在为青年外语教师的职业发展带来启示。
　　为了实现以上研究目的，研究者采用了定性个案研究方法。一名优秀青年外语教师经过研究者的科学筛选，最终作为本次研究的案例研究对象。为确保研究结论的可靠，研究者采用了“三角互证”方法。研究者首先进行了一系列的访谈，然后以非参与者的身份深入课堂观察该优秀青年外语教师。此外，研究者还访谈了该优秀教师的学生及其所在学院院长。所有收集到的数据分别由研究者、导师以及其他专业研究人员共同分析得出。
　　本研究结论表明，优秀青年外语教师的素质包含以下四个维度:1）教学基本功素质;2）教学和科研技能素质;3）职业道德素质;4）个性魅力素质。本次研究也表明外部刺激和个人动机这些因素共同促成了该优秀青年外语教师的职业发展。其中，个人的因素，诸如个人的态度、努力以及自我反思在青年外语教师的职业发展中发挥了主导作用。
　　本研究的发现不仅为新手型青年外语教师的自我发展提供指导意义，而且也为高校管理者和决策者提供了促进青年外语教师成长的参考条件，进而为针对教师的切实需求提供丰富、有益和有效的教师发展项目提出了建议。
