关于大学生利用网络资源进行英语自主学习的现状调查

摘要

近年来，基于信息技术尤其是计算机和因特网来研究自主学习已成为外语教学领域的一个热点。然而综观所搜集的文献，笔者发现目前大部分研究要么局限于课堂环境，要么局限于某个特定的软件程序，很少有人研究学生在课外利用网络资源进行自主学习的情况。有鉴于此，本文试图在这一方面做个初步研究。 以问卷调查为测量工具，本研究从学习者的角度调查了目前大学生在课外利用网络资源进行英语自主学习的情况，主要涉及以下三个方面：学生使用网络资源的情况；学生使用学习策略的情况；以及学生对教师的期望。问卷编制围绕以上三个方面并以Chan(2001)，Dickinson(1993)，Voller(1997)，Oxford(1990)，及Figura和Jarvis(2007)的相关研究成果为依据。问卷受试者为浙江某大学随机选取的470名非英语专业大学生。问卷所得有效数据用SPSS15.0社会统计学软件包进行处理和分析。 研究发现学生在课外自主学习中利用网络资源学习英语的情况不容乐观，还存在许多问题。问卷调查的统计结果和数据分析表明，大部分学生对课外利用网络资源进行英语自主学习持肯定态度，而且很多人都有在网上学习英语的经历。然而，调查结果同时也显示学生在课外利用网络资源进行英语学习时，其自主学习能力较弱，不太理想：一方面他们不能充分利用网络资源促进其英语学习；另一方面他们又缺乏必要的自主学习策略且独立性较差。所有这些因素导致学生对教师的期望也相当高。他们希望教师能在多个方面给予他们帮助和指导。因此，要使学生在课外学会利用网络资源进行自主学习，逐步减少对教师的依赖性，我们仍然有很多方面的工作要做。 目前很多研究者都在讨论利用网络促进学习者自主的好处及有效性，然而本调查却显示当前大学生在课外自主学习中利用网络资源学习英语的情况远不尽如人意。这说明网络虽然有很多优点，但其本身并不能保证自主学习。要使学生真正从网络资源中获益并促进其英语自主学习，教师有必要针对学生遇到的困难对其进行引导和帮助。
