非英语专业大学生英语写作能力调查研究——以西安医学院学生为例

摘要

英语写作能力是语言能力的重要组成部分，从词汇、句法、内容和连贯等多方面体现了非英语专业大学生的英语能力。为了解大学生的英语写作能力现状，本文从Bachman(1990)的语言能力理论出发，从英语写作能力的具体构成方面入手，通过问卷、测试和访谈对西安某医学院2013级239名学生展开了调查研究，就所收集的数据利用统计软件SPSS20.0进行统计和分析。
　　研究发现，首先，问卷结果显示学生自认为其写作能力偏低。其次，写作成绩分析表明，学生的英语写作能力较差。对写作能力的具体构成成分分析结果如下:首先，在实际使用中，学生的词汇拼写错误相对较少，主要为词汇意义和使用错误。其次，学生对简单句的应用正确率较高，复合句的运用正确率较低。第三，学生在写作的内容和连贯方面能力明显不足。
　　可见，非英语专业大学生对自我的英语写作能力缺乏自信，实际写作测试结果也证明学生写作能力整体偏低，尚未达到2007年《大学英语课程教学要求》的写作要求。具体表现为:词汇使用能力偏低，对复杂句型的掌握不足，作文的内容单薄，连贯性较差，学生的篇章结构方面的能力较差。这种结果为外语教师提出了一些建议，教师需要从输入输出理论出发，采用多种教学方法，注重在阅读课教学中对词汇意义及用法、复合句的应用、语篇和连贯等语言基本知识的教学，引导学生有意识地学习英语文章的写作方法和特点。同时，给学生提供更多的写作机会，从而以提高学生写作能力。
