“翻译三原则”指导下的英汉翻译实践——以《生态学中的古生物研究与古生物保护》的翻译为例

摘要

纵观当今社会之焦点与热点，环境问题一直是全球化条件下人类所面临的一个主要的危机之一。从这一角度出发，本文作者择取环境问题为此次翻译操作的语料----生态学中的古生物研究与古生物保护(Paleontology in Ecology and Conservation)。这是一本关于古生物和古生物保护的学术论文集，作者选取了其中的两篇进行翻译，因为这两篇文章均属于高标准的学术本文，涉及多领域，且翻译具有一定的难度，对翻译的质量也有相对较高的要求。其中定语从句的识别，先行词的确定，拆句法的应用等构成了本次翻译的“较量”之处。作者特意将其作为操作与研究的视点，集中总结在定语从句翻译中的经验和教训，并试图找寻英语从句的翻译的一些基本规律。
　　本文由四部分组成：任务描述、任务过程、案例分析、和实践总结。本文选以泰特勒的“翻译三原则”为理论，以英汉语言差异为分析的切入点，着力感受英汉语言在形态、句子的重心、语态、及语序上的不同。通过对此次翻译实践中出现的错误率最多，修改率最大的定语从句的操作实例进行剖析，对翻译中前置和后置译法，转换译法，和拆句译法等有了深一步的认识，对其应用范围和尺度亦有了一定的把握。
