语篇功能视角下科技英语中被动句功能的研究

摘要

被动句是一种很重要的语法结构。英语被动句因其具有特定的语篇及语用功能而被广泛应用在言语交际中。之前大多数学者关注英汉被动结构的对比研究。而系统功能语法认为，语篇中主动句还是被动句的选择将会产生不同的语篇功能。
　　众所周知，随着科技被广泛的重视起来，科技英语的地位越来越突出。而科技英语的一大主要特征便是被动句的广泛使用。所以，基于前人的相关研究，本文从功能语法的角度来分析科技英语中的被动句，希望人们能更好地理解科技英语语篇和进行科技英语写作，此外，也希望能给教学和翻译带来一定启示。同时，鼓励人们带着功能学习语言以提高交际能力。
　　本文随机选取权威杂志Science中的十二篇文章，从系统功能语法的三大功能之一的语篇功能角度对其中的被动句进行了分析。语篇功能分为三个方面，分别是主位结构，信息结构和衔接。通过定性分析，回答了三个研究问题。
　　研究发现，基于主位结构，科技英语语篇中被动句的语篇功能是话题确立功能，突出主题功能和语篇衔接与连贯功能。基于信息结构，科技英语语篇中被动句的语篇功能为话题转换功能，凸显焦点功能和焦点对比功能。此外，本文结合衔接的三种表现形式，具体分析了为什么在一些语境中使用被动句比主动句更合适,或者更具体地说是衔接功能。
