自传类文本英汉翻译实践报告——以《特种兵,从整理床铺开始》为例

摘要

本翻译实践报告所选的材料为美国海军上将威廉·哈里·麦克雷文所著的Make Your Bed一书。全书共10章，13576个字。 该书具有自传类文本“忠实性”和“文学性”的特点，同时在表达方面，语言简单易懂、生动形象，频繁使用含有多个动词及感官印象的描述句。故在翻译时，如何将文本翻译得亲切自然、生动形象以吸引中国读者，是本次实践活动遇到的主要困难和主要研究问题。根据文本的特点以及翻译的重难点，笔者选择了纽马克的语义翻译和交际翻译作为理论指导，主要探究了以下三个问题。第一，标题和章节名的翻译；第二，带有多个动词的描述句的翻译；第三，含有感官印象的描述句的翻译。针对这三个问题，笔者发现：改写适用于标题和章节名的翻译；词义选择法和词性转换法适用于带有多个动词的描述句的翻译；而增译和四字格适合翻译含有感官印象的描述句。 本研究以纽马克的语义翻译和交际翻译作为理论指导，不仅对翻译中遇到的重点和难点进行了举例分析，而且还提出了相应的翻译方法。此外译者还分享了在翻译实践中的主要发现、其中存在的局限以及对今后翻译的建议。
