《大学英语》（航海类）与航海专业英文版教材的词汇对比研究

摘要

本研究主要探究《大学英语》（航海类）教材与大连海事大学编写的航海专业英文版教材的词汇衔接性以及该套英文版教材是否符合航海专业学生的英语水平。基于作者自建的航海类大学英语语料库(MCE)和航海英语语料库(NE)，利用WordSmith软件和RANGE软件研究了以下方面:
　　(1)MCE语料库和NE语料库的词汇特征;
　　(2)MCE语料库和NE语料库的词汇难度;
　　(3)MCE词表对于NE语料库的词汇覆盖率。
　　其中，本研究中使用的大学英语语料库(MCE)与航海英语语料库(NE)是通过收集大连海事大学《大学英语》（航海类）教材与航海专业课各英文版教材分别建成的。
　　研究表明，NE语料库的词汇密度小于MCE语料库，但词汇难度和词长却明显大于MCE语料库和四、六级阅读水平，特别是NE语料库中的《航海学》的词汇难度远大于MCE语料库。另外，MCE语料库对NE语料库的词汇覆盖率达91％，总体来说这套《大学英语》教材在词汇方面对于航海英语专业教材有较好衔接，但覆盖率未达理想的95％。
　　基于以上研究，作者建议对于频次较低的词汇，老师在教与学的过程中应有针对性的强调学习。对于航海专业课中难度较大的教材，作者建议此类课程现阶段教学中应辅以中文材料助于理解，并根据教学效果对其进行适当修改，以求完善。最后，作者经过计算并筛选制成补充词汇表附于《大学英语》教材，以增加MCE教材对于NE语料库的覆盖率，为航海类学生在基础英语与专业英语的过渡学习打下更扎实的基础。
