数字模糊性及其翻译策略研究

摘要

本文从模糊语言学(Fuzzy Linguistics)的角度出发，探讨了文化因素对数字模糊性的影响以及模糊数字在文学和日常交流中的作用，并借助异化(Foreignization)与归化(Domestication)策略，讨论了英汉数字之间的具体、可操作的翻译方法。作为相对较新的一个研究领域，模糊语言学虽在中国起步较晚，但正在引发越来越多的关注。然而以模糊语言学为指导，对数字模糊性的研究却并不多见，因此，该课题具有一定的创新意义。 模糊性是语言的基本属性。本文首先介绍了模糊语言学的相关理论，包括模糊性的含义、特点，阐述了语言中模糊现象的普遍性，以此为下文讨论数字的模糊性奠定基础。其次，本文介绍了模糊数字的翻译策略：异化翻译和归化翻译。具体分析了异化与归化的发展历史、定义、理论基础以及国内外的研究情况，为下文探讨模糊数字的翻译进行了理论铺垫。最后，在理论分析的基础上，本文要重点研究两个问题：(1)数字的模糊性。计数是数字的基本功能，然而在日常生活，特别是文学作品中，数字却往往呈现出模糊性的一面。数字的模糊性在很大程度上是由数字蕴涵的独特文化所决定的，本文探讨了文化因素对数字模糊性的影响。除此之外，数字的语义模糊、模糊数字的修辞用法及其所起的作用也是文章讨论的重点；(2)模糊数字的翻译方法。中英数字由于处于不同的文化体系，它们之间的互译不可避免会引起一些困难和难题。为正确解决问题，中英数字的翻译必然要遵循一定的原则和策略。异化与归化是指导模糊数字翻译的主要策略。在具体的翻译原则和翻译策略的指导下，本文最后提出了具体的翻译模糊数字的方法：在异化方面有直译、直译加注、音译；在归化方面有改译、省略数字、添加数字。 在上述讨论的基础上，本文得出结论：数字具有模糊性，数字的模糊性在很大程度上由其所在的文化决定，而且模糊数字在文学及日常交际中具有重大作用；归化与异化并不是互相矛盾的，它们在模糊数字的翻译中都起着重要的作用。 总之，本文对模糊数字以及模糊数字的翻译方法的研究，丰富了语义模糊研究的具体内容，对于数字的语义模糊研究有一定的学术价值；数字翻译原则和翻译方法的研究，对于翻译文学作品以及日常交际中的模糊数字也具有一定的指导意义。
