Method and device for resolving the phase ambiguity, without using differential coding, in digital transmission with coherent demodulation. On reception, a time base (25) is provided able, by simultaneous searching for the MVT on two of the trains generated as well as on their complements, to supply the binary number (C1, C2) of the carrier.
