This study focuses on using new technology, the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) in teaching and leaming the English language, the overall purpose of the study is to investigate, analyse, and discuss the effectiveness of using the Interactive Whiteboard(IWB) in interactive teaching and leaming strategies and methods; theoretically and pedagogically. According to many researches and theories, this paper includes someideas and new insights into the field. The objectives of this study are divided into three parts: 1-to investigates thecurrent potential of using the IWB in English classrooms and how they can supportteaching and learning? 2-to evaluate the pedagogical potentials of an interactiveteaching and leaming methods used with the conjunction with the IWB technology.3-to examine the impact of using the IWB on teacher productivity and on pupilattendance, response and behaviour. The effectiveness and strategies that will support and enhance ways in teachingthe English language. It discusses the results of a research project which aimed tocapture, analyse and communicate the complex interactions between students,teachers and technology that occur in the classroom. Teachers and researchers used aninnovative research design developed through the Interactive Education Project. Casestudies were carried out in classrooms, focusing on the use of Interactive Whiteboardtechnology for teaching and learning. The case studies were analysed using differentmethods and strategies in teaching the English language. The case studies illustratethat the introduction of Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) into the classroom involvesmuch more than the physical installation of the board and software. Teachers are thecritical agents in mediating the sofiware, the integration of the sofiware into thesubject aims of the lesson and appropriate use of the IWB to promote qualityinteractions and interactivity.
