非英语专业大学生英语口语自我概念特点及启示

摘要

自我概念,这一重要理论来自心理学领域,多数研究表明学业自我概念与学业成绩之间存在相互联系,因此近年来在英语教学领域越来越重视情感因素对英语学习的影响作用。如何提高学生英语口语水平一直是困扰大学英语教学的问题,本研究试图从英语口语自我概念着手,从情感因素方面探索中国英语学习者的特点。本文运用实证分析的方法调查并总结了非英语专业大学生英语口语自我概念的特点,着重分析了英语口语自我概念与英语口语水平的关系。作者在137名咸宁学院二年级非英语专业的本科生中进行了英语口语自我概念的调查和实际英语口语水平情况的测试,并在测试后抽取学生进行面对面的访谈。本研究的结果利用了社会统计分析软件(SPSS15.0)对所得数据进行相关分析和t检验。
　　 根据研究结果得出以下结论:咸宁学院非英语专业学生英语口语自我概念与其实际英语口语水平之间存在显著意义的正相关关系,英语口语自我概念可以用来预测学生的英语口语水平。英语口语水平较高的学生其口语水平与口语自我概念的相关度要远远低于实际口语水平较低的学生。
　　 根据调查研究的结果,本文总结出非英语专业大学生英语口语自我概念的特点以及从培养学生英语口语自我概念方面进行教学的几点启示,希望能够促进大学英语口语教学。
