基于语料库的政府工作报告(2010-2014)英译本语言特点研究

摘要

本研究以最近的2010-2014年国务院总理所作的政府工作报告英译本为语料自建小型语料库，并对其进行定量统计和定性分析。论文整体上从词语、句子、修辞三个层面展开，在每个层面选取有代表性的要素进行详细分析，得出英译本在这三方面的语言特点。在此基础上，对所得语言特点进行综合，从而得出政府工作报告英译本整体上的措辞特点。
　　在词语层面，本文从高频词、缩略语和术语三个角度进行研究。第一，利用语料库检索软件分别得出这五年的英译本中出现频率前六十的词语作为高频词汇，分析其涵盖范围、所反映出的政府立场、及其词长特点;第二，从数字缩略语、首字母拼音词、首字母拼写词、拼缀词和截短词几个方面对缩略语进行分析;第三，对经济术语、政治术语、教育术语以及其他方面的术语进行分析。
　　在句子层面，本文从常见句型及特殊句式两个角度进行研究。前者阐述了英译本中常见的简单句、并列句、复合句的使用频率以及它们与政府工作报告的文体特点之间的关系;后者从祈使句、省略句、倒装句三方面论述，彰显了英译本有别于原文本的独特之处，旨在适应英语读者的语言习惯，进而增强英译本的可读性。
　　在修辞层面主要统计积极修辞手法，如对比、排比、拟人、借代、对偶等的使用频率以及这些修辞手法与政府工作报告这一文体的适应程度。
　　政府工作报告英译本作为外界了解中国发展动态的权威文件，对其语言特点的研究还是很有价值的。首先，有利于将我国的方针政策传播到国际社会，使世界更好地了解中国，从而扩大中国的国际影响力。其次，本文立足于自建语料库对英译本进行分析，为公文写作提供了一个新的研究方法。再次，通过在词语、句子、修辞三个层面上对英译本语言特点进行详细分析，为从事翻译的人员提供学习借鉴同时增强其阅读英语国家政论文章的能力。
